School History

Christ the King School of Mandan, ND was originally founded in 1958. Facing low enrollment and significant financial challenges, Christ the King School began a transformation into Montessori-based education in 2016. In 2024, the school includes a wonderful Nido and Infant Community (ages 0-3), three Children’s House environments (ages 3-6), three Lower Elementary environments (ages 6-9), and two Upper Elementary environments (ages 9-12).

Our Mission: To serve Christ in the child, guiding each student in the spiritual and physical development of the intellect, imagination, will, and senses through authentic Catholic Montessori education.

Christ the King Catholic Montessori School is dedicated to providing a setting that prepares children to lead a faith-filled Christian life. Our goal is to educate the whole person and to assist parents in fulfilling their responsibility to educate their children. We create a warm and welcoming environment where families may come together to learn in faith and grow in prayer. We provide a quality academic education, teach moral values, and instill in children an attitude of love and reverence for life - one’s own life and the lives of others.
