Christ the King Parish has a small prayer group, a "cenacle." The Divine Mercy website describes a cenacle as a, "…small faith-sharing group. It is as old as the Church itself. The idea contained in the word cenacle is derived from the meeting of our Lord's followers in the upper room where Jesus instituted the Eucharist and washed the Apostles' feet. It was there that the Apostles received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost." From there, they were sent out. We too are sent out and more than ever before, our prayer and actions are needed in this world we live in.
The Eucharist is Mercy Himself - thus the name of our John 6 Cenacle with a focus on the message of Divine Mercy as found in Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Diary of St. Faustina, with a special emphasis on the Eucharist (Divine Mercy website). The foundation of our cenacle is the Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy, which is an apostolate of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception.
The John 6 Cenacle meets every Monday beginning at 7pm and consists of:
7:00-7:05 - Praying the Angelus
7:05-7:10 - Praise and Gratitude to God for Graces Received
7:10-7:45 - Reading/Sharing
7:45-7:50 - Prayers of Petition
7:50-8:00 - Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet
We are using the following books at each cenacle, each member will need to bring their own:
